Device compromise via undersized MAC stack buffers
Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda O6 1.0.0.7(2054) allows remote authenticated users to compromise the device via a crafted MAC value. The frommacFilterModify function passes the POST mac parameter to sscanf, which writes six parsed fields into undersized stack arrays. Access to /goform/operateMacFilter is required; the public proof of concept demonstrates the oversized request trigger but not code execution.
