Memory corruption via unbounded sprintf parameters
Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda O5 1.0.0.8(5017) allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted POST request. The fromSafeSetMacFilter handler passes attacker-controlled remark, type, or time values to sprintf without bounding writes to its stack array. A low-privileged management session is required; the published PoC demonstrates the triggering request but not code execution.
