CVE-2024-8227Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated appliance crash via unbounded DHCP formatting

Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda O1 1.0.0.7(10648) allows remote authenticated users to crash the appliance via DHCP fields. The fromDhcpSetSer handler passes seven POST-supplied DHCP values to sprintf into the fixed-size dhcpscfg stack array without bounds checking. Access to the web management interface is required; oversized input corrupts stack memory, while the public artifact demonstrates only a service-disrupting request rather than code execution.
