Authenticated command execution via f_source_dev injection
Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024
Command injection in D-Link NAS and NVR firmware version 20240814 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The cgi_FMT_Std2R5_2nd_DiskMGR function in /cgi-bin/hd_config.cgi uses the attacker-controlled f_source_dev value without command neutralization. Low-privilege network access is sufficient, and successful exploitation runs commands with the CGI process's permissions.
