Remote command execution via unescaped f_mount parameter
Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024
Command injection in D-Link NAS and NVR appliances through 20240814 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The hd_config.cgi CGI uses sprintf to incorporate the untrusted f_mount query value into a command without neutralizing command separators. Access to the web-management interface is required; injected commands can read or alter stored data and interrupt appliance services.
