API key modification via missing nonce validation
Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Smash Balloon Reviews Feed 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to update an API key via a forged request. The update_api_key function processes the state-changing request without valid WordPress nonce verification and saves attacker-supplied API key data. Exploitation requires a site administrator to act on attacker-controlled content; the documented consequence is modification of the stored API key.
