Missing authentication in AnythingLLM Desktop before 1.6.5 allows remote attackers to access the backend over port 3001. The desktop server binds port 3001 to 0.0.0.0 by default, exposing API endpoints without requiring credentials. Network reachability to the host is sufficient to obtain full backend access, including the ability to delete all workspace data.
