Authenticated browser script execution via unsanitized student parameter
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Cross-site scripting in SourceCodester QR Code Attendance System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to inject browser script. The /endpoint/delete-student.php handler accepts the student request parameter without adequate validation or output neutralization, allowing decoded markup to execute in a rendered page. Exploitation requires low-privileged access to modify a student-deletion request and another user's interaction with the affected page; the demonstrated consequence is attacker-controlled script execution in that user's browser.
