Authenticated file upload via extension-only validation
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Zipped Folder Manager App 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to store crafted ZIP archives. The add-folder.php endpoint trusts the filename extension, performs no archive-content validation, and moves the uploaded file into the folders directory. Access to the upload function is required; the demonstrated consequence is storage and later download of arbitrary-content archives, while server-side execution requires separate extraction and executable-path conditions.
