Settings modification via nonce-free update request
Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
CSRF in Alphabetical List 1.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings through an administrator's browser. The alphabetical-list settings page accepts POSTed category-selection fields and updates configuration without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML, after which the forged request can alter the plugin's selected categories.
