Stored XSS via unsanitized task name
Published Aug 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Task Progress Tracker 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user's browser. update-task.php accepts task_name without sanitization or validation, and the application later renders the saved value as active HTML. An account that can update a task and a second user's viewing of the modified task are required, exposing that viewer's in-application data and actions.
