Authenticated command execution via cgi_add_zip path injection
Published Aug 24, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link NAS and NVR firmware dated 20240814 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via an HTTP request. The cgi_add_zip function in /cgi-bin/webfile_mgr.cgi treats the HTTP POST path parameter as command input without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Valid web-interface credentials are required, and successful exploitation can read, modify, or disrupt appliance data and services.
