Protected-post disclosure via unchecked duplication key
Published Sep 4, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in WP Extended 3.0.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to duplicate and read other authors' protected posts. The duplicate_post function accepts a user-controlled post key without checking whether the requester may access the referenced post before creating its copy. Contributor-level access and the enabled Duplicate Posts & Pages module are required; exploitation discloses password-protected content and creates an unauthorized duplicate.
