Reflected XSS via unescaped selected_option output
Published Sep 4, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in WP Extended 3.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through the selected_option parameter. The Code Snippets module inserts the query value into a heading and hidden input without adequate sanitization or output escaping. A victim must open a crafted link to the affected page, allowing script execution in that user's browser context.
