Stored XSS via unescaped placeholder samples
Published Aug 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 30, 2024
Stored XSS in pretix 2024.7.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to render arbitrary HTML in another organizer's mail preview. Mail preview code inserts render_sample() output into HTML span content without escaping it, turning organizer-controlled placeholder samples into markup. An event organizer must create the content and another organizer must open a preview for the same event; the default CSP blocks scripts unless separately bypassed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
