CVE-2024-8076Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory corruption via unchecked diagnostic command formatting

Published Aug 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024

Classic buffer overflow in setDiagnosisCfg in TOTOLINK T8 4.1.5cu.862_B20230228 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory. The function uses sprintf to format attacker-controlled diagnostic input into a fixed 128-byte array without checking its length. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required; oversized input can crash the router or enable code execution.
