CVE-2024-8075Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via bypassable diagnostic filter

Published Aug 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024

OS command injection in TOTOLINK T8 4.1.5cu.862_B20230228 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through diagnostics. The setDiagnosisCfg handler uses sprintf to build a ping command from a request value, passes it to system, and relies on a bypassable Validity_check filter. Network access with low privileges is required, and successful injection runs attacker-supplied operating-system commands with the router service's privileges.
