CVE-2024-8073Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via captcha request concatenation

Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024

Command injection in Hillstone Networks Web Application Firewall 5.5R6-2.6.7 through 5.5R6-2.8.13 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The captcha page concatenates attacker-controlled data from a crafted request into a system command without adequate validation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants control of the WAF server.
