CVE-2024-8070

Credential disclosure via cleartext firmware storage

Published Oct 13, 2024 · Updated Oct 14, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in Schneider Electric EVlink Home Smart and Schneider Charge firmware allows local users to obtain test credentials. The firmware binary embeds sensitive test credentials without protection, making them recoverable through inspection of the appliance firmware image. Exploitation requires unauthenticated local access to the charging station or firmware; published material identifies credential disclosure but not broader credential privileges.
