NetworkService escalation via writable MSMQ queue
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Improper privilege management in Cloud Software Group's Citrix Session Recording allows remote authenticated users to gain NetworkService access. The Storage Manager installer grants AnonymousSid GenericWrite access to its MSMQ queue, allowing crafted messages to be accepted and processed by the NetworkService service. Reachability requires an authenticated account in the Session Recording server's Windows Active Directory domain; resulting access is limited to NetworkService privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
