CVE-2024-8058Network attack vector

Arbitrary file disclosure via URL preloading

Published Dec 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Improper parsing in Lenovo FileZ Client before 9.8.6.0 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary device files through a crafted file. The client preloads a URL embedded in a file placed in the FileZ directory without validating that the referenced resource is safe to read. A victim must open the crafted file, after which the attacker can obtain local file content accessible in that user's context.
