Stored XSS via forged administrator settings request
Published Sep 17, 2024 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stored XSS in Review Ratings 1.6 and earlier allows attackers to inject script through a forged administrator settings request. The settings handler stores an unsanitized and unescaped empty_symbol_color value from a tokenless POST to ratings-shorttags.php. An administrator must open attacker-controlled HTML while authenticated; the stored script executes when the affected output is rendered.
