CVE-2024-8012

SYSTEM code execution via exposed RES method

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 12, 2025

Authentication bypass in the message broker service of Ivanti Workspace Control before 10.19.0.0 allows local users to escalate privileges. The RES service listens on TCP port 1942 by default and exposes a dangerous method that accepts calls without the required authentication. Low-privileged code execution on the host is required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary code as SYSTEM.
