Arbitrary file upload via missing type validation
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in Softaculous FileOrganizer 1.0.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to place dangerous files on the server. The fileorganizer_ajax_handler function stores uploaded content without first validating its file type. Exploitation requires FileOrganizer Pro to be active and an administrator to grant the attacker's Subscriber-level role file-manager access; a server-executable upload grants remote code execution.
