Settings modification via missing CSRF check
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 17, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Joy Of Text Lite 2.3.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings via a forged request. The process_refresh_languages AJAX action accepts attacker-supplied formdata and applies settings without a CSRF token check. Exploitation requires an administrator with an active WordPress session to open attacker-controlled HTML, and the demonstrated effect changes the voice-gender setting.
