Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in CMSMasters Content Composer 1.8.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. Multiple shortcode handlers accept user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization and render them without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in the browser of any user who opens the injected page, enabling actions or data access within that user's site session.
