CVE-2024-7961Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via traversal file upload

Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Path traversal in Rockwell Automation Pavilion8 before 5.20 allows remote authenticated users to upload arbitrary files to its server. Rockwell Automation identifies server-side file upload as the vulnerable operation but has not disclosed the responsible endpoint, parameter, or validation failure. High-privilege access is required; successful traversal permits arbitrary file placement and can lead to code execution on the server.
