Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024
Stored XSS in update-account.php in SourceCodester Accounts Manager App 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script via account fields. The handler stores account_name, tbl_account_id, username, password, and link values without adequate validation or sanitization, allowing injected markup to execute when the saved record is rendered. A valid application session and a victim who views the modified account are required; execution occurs in the victim's browser and can alter displayed content or access data available to that session.
