Authenticated code execution via favicon extension rewrite
Published Aug 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in DouPHP 1.7 Release 20220822 allows remote authenticated users to upload files through the favicon handler. /admin/system.php accepts an ICO upload through site_favicon, then trusts the attacker-controlled new_path extension, allowing the file to be renamed with a PHP suffix. Administrator access is required; execution of the renamed file grants arbitrary PHP code execution on the web server.
