Local root escalation via XPC PID reuse
Published Nov 25, 2024 · Updated Nov 25, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Cindori Sensei 2.5.10 and earlier allows local users to execute privileged helper operations through XPC. The org.cindori.SenseiHelper service validates an NSXPCConnection by its reusable processIdentifier, allowing a racing process to impersonate an approved client and call HelperProtocol methods. Low-privileged local access is required; successful exploitation grants root-level file, permission, daemon, and extension operations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=1.5.10 (110)
