CVE-2024-7908Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated memory corruption via unbounded IpAddress copy

Published Aug 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK EX1200L 9.3.5u.6146_B20201023 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt process memory. The setDefResponse handler in /www/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi copies the request-controlled IpAddress value into the v15 stack variable without a published bounds check. A crafted POST request with an active management session reaches the flaw; the public proof of concept demonstrates a stack overflow, not code execution.
