Settings modification via missing CSRF validation
Published Sep 25, 2024 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Vladyslav Bondarenko adstxt 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings. The adstxtPageContent() handler accepts an update_adstxt POST and writes the supplied adstxt value without validating a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML or follow a crafted link, and the demonstrated effect is unauthorized replacement of the site's ads.txt content.
