Stored XSS via unsanitized plugin settings
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Stored XSS in Christoph Nagel Floating Contact Button before 2.8 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through plugin settings. The plugin stores some settings without sanitization and later renders those values without output escaping; public records do not identify the specific fields or rendering function. Administrator-level access is required, and exploitation remains possible when unfiltered_html is disabled; a separate user must view the affected output for the script to execute in that user's browser.
