CVE-2024-7887Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Statistics denial of service via malformed file size

Published Aug 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024

Improper input validation in LimeSurvey 6.3.0-231016 allows remote attackers to disrupt survey statistics via malformed upload metadata. The file-upload response path accepts a nonnumeric size value and later passes it to round(), causing an HTTP 500 error when statistics parse the response. A published survey must contain a file-upload question, and a submitted malformed response prevents administrators from viewing that survey's statistics rather than stopping the entire service.
