Settings modification via nonce-less forged requests
Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Freaking Wildchild Visual Sound 1.03 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings. The settings handler at wp-admin/options-general.php?page=visual-sound/visualsound.php accepts forged POST fields without validating an anti-CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled HTML, causing the browser to submit chosen SoundCloud display settings with the administrator's session.
