Subscriber-level media and settings changes via unchecked AJAX
Published Aug 30, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Media Library Folders 8.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to manage media and settings via AJAX. Several AJAX handlers in media-library-plus.php perform file, folder, and settings operations without checking the caller's required WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to move, copy, rename, or delete media and folders and to alter plugin settings.
