SQL injection via unsanitized user_name query
Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024
SQL injection in Clinic's Patient Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read database data via user_name. The check_user_name.php endpoint inserts the user_name parameter directly into an SQL statement without validation, quoting, or parameter binding. A valid low-privilege session is required; the published error-based proof of concept extracts the database name through the query response.
