Authenticated device compromise via user buffer overflow

Buffer overflow in D-Link NAS and NVR appliances through 20240814 allows remote authenticated users to compromise the device. The cgi_get_fullscreen_photos function in /cgi-bin/photocenter_mgr.cgi processes the user parameter without adequate bounds enforcement, overflowing a buffer. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required; successful exploitation can execute attacker-controlled code and disrupt storage or recording.
