CVE-2024-7825

Service crash and dump exposure via type confusion

Published Oct 3, 2024 · Updated Oct 3, 2024

Type confusion in Webroot SecureAnywhere Web Shield before 2.1.2.3 allows local users to crash WRSA.exe and generate a crash dump. The wrUrl.dll module accesses a resource through an incompatible type, but OpenText has not disclosed the resource, input, or triggering operation. A locally authenticated context is required; exploitation interrupts the service and exposes process data in the generated dump, without modifying data.
