Authenticated SQL injection via interpolated expense parameter
Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Daily Expenses Monitoring App 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to manipulate the expense database. The delete-expense.php endpoint places the GET expense value inside a quoted DELETE WHERE clause before preparing the already-built string, without binding the value as data. A low-privilege account can supply SQL syntax that changes the query, enabling unauthorized reading, alteration, or deletion within the database account's permissions.
