Service exhaustion via attacker-controlled regular expressions
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Regular expression denial of service in Onyx version 1 allows remote attackers to exhaust application resources via crafted expressions. The public advisory does not identify the code locus, regex engine, input field, or endpoint that evaluates attacker-controlled patterns. Network access without authentication or user interaction is sufficient; sustained evaluation can severely delay responses or render the service unusable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
