CVE-2024-7764Network attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary SQL execution via semicolon extraction

Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

SQL injection in Vanna 0.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute attacker-defined SQL through crafted natural-language requests. generate_sql passes the LLM response to extract_sql, whose semicolon-based extraction can discard generated SQL and retain an injected command accepted by is_sql_valid. Low-privilege network access is required, and exploitation permits database reads and writes beyond the trained schema without interrupting service.
