Code execution via unvalidated AcroForm object use
Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Use-after-free in AcroForm handling in Foxit PDF Reader 2024.2.2.25170 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via crafted AcroForm content. The parser performs operations on an AcroForm object without validating that the object still exists, allowing a freed or wild pointer to be dereferenced. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and successful code runs in the current process.
