Code execution via AcroForm use-after-free
Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Use-after-free in AcroForm handling in Foxit PDF Reader 2024.2.2.25170 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted PDFs. Foxit fails to validate that an AcroForm object still exists before operating on it, allowing a freed object pointer to be reused. Exploitation requires the user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, after which code runs in the current process.
