Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Missing authorization in AI ChatBot with ChatGPT and Content Generator by AYS before 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to disable its OpenAI connection. The wp-admin/admin-ajax.php handler dispatches attacker-controlled function values to ays_chatgpt_disconnect, ays_chatgpt_connect, and ays_chatgpt_save_feedback without sufficient authorization checks. No account is required; a crafted request can disconnect a configured site from OpenAI and interrupt chatbot operation.
