Root command execution via action endpoint injection
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
OS command injection in Phoenix Contact mGuard firmware before 8.9.3 or 10.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The administrative action endpoint passes insufficiently neutralized user data into an operating-system command. A low-privileged account with endpoint access can take full control of the appliance; the affected parameter and command-building locus are undisclosed.
