Arbitrary code execution via DWF use-after-free
Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Use-after-free in w3dtk.dll in Autodesk Navisworks 2022 through 2025 allows local users to execute code via a crafted DWF file. The parser accesses an object after its release while processing attacker-controlled DWF data; Autodesk has not disclosed the specific lifetime error. Exploitation requires user interaction to open or import the file and can crash the current process or run code with that process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
