CVE-2024-7656Network attack vector

Authenticated PHP object injection via unsafe post-content unserialization

Published Aug 24, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

PHP object injection in Le Van Toan Image Hotspot by DevVN 1.2.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject PHP objects. The devvn_ihotspot_shortcode_func function calls maybe_unserialize on attacker-controlled hotspot post content, permitting object instantiation without an allowed-class restriction. Author-level access is required, and file deletion, data retrieval, or code execution additionally requires a usable POP chain from another installed plugin or theme.
