Stored script execution via unescaped video attributes
Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Kirsty Burgoine Responsive Video 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through video settings. The video settings function accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and renders them without context-appropriate output escaping. Contributor-level access and responsive videos enabled for posts are required; the stored script executes when a user opens an injected page.
