CVE-2024-7587

Data disclosure, tampering, and disruption via permissive ACL

Published Oct 22, 2024 · Updated Jan 9, 2026

Incorrect default permissions in GenBroker32 for affected ICONICS products allow local users to read or alter protected data. The installer applies an Allow-Everyone DACL to C:\ProgramData\ICONICS, granting every logged-in user read, write, modify, and execute access to configuration, reporting, logging, and licensing files. Exploitation requires GenBroker32 on the same Windows host; access can expose or alter confidential data and interrupt the installed product.
